Welcome to ABC Learning, where we believe every child in New Zealand deserves equitable access to high-quality education. Led by our founder and director, Bronwen Seaward, we are committed to helping children thrive by providing parents with the tools and resources they need to support their child’s learning journey.

With over 20 years of teaching experience across a wide range of schools, including pre-school, primary and high schools, single-cell classrooms, and flexible learning spaces, Bronwen has gained deep insights into the challenges of modern education. She has taught across all subject areas, but believes that a strong foundation in Literacy and Mathematics is the key to unlocking all future learning.

Bronwen is currently a teaching principal in a rural New Zealand school, where she continues to teach foundational literacy and mathematics daily, inspiring engagement and achievement in her students. Recently, Bronwen has been approached by friends seeking help for their children, who feel overwhelmed in noisy, overcrowded classrooms. Parents are also anxious about whether their children are school-ready, which is why we chose to start with our Launchpad Missions. These missions focus on foundational skills to help young learners begin their educational journey with confidence.

Our next focus is likely to be on Year 7 & 8 learners with our Deep Space Missions, as we’ve already received several requests for this level. As an early adopter, you can have your say in what comes next! We are actively developing new missions and bringing them online as quickly as possible. During the summer break, we plan to publish several new missions to launch in early 2025.

ABC Learning Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to empower parents with the tools and strategies they need to help their children excel. Grounded in the science of learning, we focus on building strong foundations in Literacy (Oral Language, Reading and Writing) and Mathematics, with regular assessments to track progress and personalise learning. All of our learning follows an explicit scope and sequence and links directly to the New Zealand Curriculum. Through daily reviews and a structured approach, we reinforce key concepts, ensuring each child masters the basics and gains confidence.

What is a Mission?

A Mission at ABC Learning is a carefully designed learning program aimed at building foundational knowledge and skills in literacy, mathematics, and other key areas. Each mission is organised into stages, guiding students step-by-step through learning activities and providing support for both children and parents. Think of each mission as a learning adventure, where children are given the tools they need to succeed while parents play an active role in guiding them toward their goals.

An Engaging Space Adventure for Your Child

At ABC Learning, we believe that learning should be an exciting journey. That's why we’ve designed our Missions around a space theme, making every learning task feel like an adventure. With rocket ships, astronauts, and missions to complete, children are motivated to ‘zoom’ through their learning while having fun.

As each child takes on their mission, Mission Control (that’s the teacher!) handles all the planning, preparation, and course design. Parents, grandparents, or older siblings step in as the child’s learning coach, supporting them as they progress at their own pace. Together, you and your child are part of an exciting, supportive team, working toward success at every stage.
